Are American bulldogs excessively aggressive towards humans?
American bulldogs are extremely dominant and are also very protective. Towards their ‘pack’ (their family) they can be very loving and will show aggression to any strangers because of their protective instinct. If socialised early, like the bulldog in the video then they are comfortable in the presence of babies and other animals and see no threat.
Obedience training is vital, commencing with sitting for a treat before they are six months. Thereafter they can be taught to sit, down, come, and heel on command.
