When a Frenchie inherits two dominant merle genes or “M” alleles from both its parents, it ends up with the double merle pattern. There’s only a 25% chance of the puppy inheriting this double copy.
As a result of the breeding practices, these dogs lack pigments in certain parts leading to sensitive skin. Puppies are also born deaf and blind in certain cases, while others may develop these issues as they mature.
